A lovely evening honoring the current and future leaders and role models of our communities. The Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce 1st Citizens' Awards Banquet honors one citizen from each Westport and Weston who meet the following criteria: An admirable community leader who has held leadership positions in community based programs and organizations and is active in community, state or national organizations. A creative entrepreneur who might have started his or her own business or used creative skills to expand an existing business; or perhaps someone who has brought business insights to improve the quality of the community. An exemplary citizen who is respected and admired by colleagues, peers and community leaders and who volunteers to support the community.  A praiseworthy philanthropist who actively participates in fundraising at a local or national level or makes significant contributions to local/state or national organizations. We will also honor four high school students as Future First Citizens, a boy and girl from each Weston and Staples High School who are demonstrating the above qualities and positioning themselves as future leaders of our communities.
